Baseball Business

The rivalry between the Chicago Cubs and the White Sox doesn't end after the ninth inning. Fans love their teams, as well as the fields and towns where they play.

Wrigleyville, home to the Cubs, has many bars and shops surrounding Wrigley Field. Budding entrepreneurs fight over prime Wrigley real estate while fans, patrons and tourists fight for parking spots.

Anheuser-Busch, who already ambushed other ball parks, recently obtained a piece of Wrigley by buying the naming rights to the Bud Lite Bleachers.

The streets around US Cellular field are quieter, but Sox fans say that they care more about baseball than bars. In the wake of a World Series win, the few businesses that are around the ballpark are reaping the benefits of being neighbors to the Sox. Neighborhoods near the Cell, like Bronzeville, are growing as a result of the South Side team.
